95 - 97
Me, Vilmi (behind on drums), Özgur and Caspar -97
at Ungdomens Hus, "A-Rocken".
This was the original Solitude setup which only kept for a year maybe. We played at a
lot of places, all in Uppsala, Sweden. One place we played 5 times (Café Genomfarten)
which wasnīt a very big place but a lot of local and non-local bands used to
play there and still do! But we had other bigger gigs at other places but they were
never outside Uppsala. We didnīt really have the contacts for that. The band was
originally founded in 94 when the singer and rhythmguitarist Ozgur decided to start
a band together with the drummer Vilmi. In the beginning it wasnīt much of a band,
they were both pretty new at what they were playing but they were learning. The
other members, like other guitarists and bassplayers were constantly changed for not
only skill reasons but drug reasons too and that just didnīt work out. At last they
almost at the same time decided to take me and Caspar as lead guitarist and
bassguitarist. We began to write songs at once and finished up having about 8 or 9
songs plus a few covers we played, in the end the older songs werenīt very popular
in the band because of having played them for so many times so Ozgur decided to not
play some of the songs because he though they were so bad and boring which wasnīt
really true only almost. Thing was that in the end we were getting so pissed of at
each other that were barely ever got anything done. And so we started to fade away
and it kind of "really" ended when Ozgur and Vilmi decided to kick Caspar out of the
band not because he was bad or anything it just was that we never really got along
and we sort of got irritated at each other all the time!
After that we were trying to keep the band together but we needed a bassplayer. I
eventually played the bass for a while which I though Ozgur should do because he only
played the rythm-guitar when I played lead-guitar and werenīt playing any hard parts
but oh no he refused and said "I canīt play bass and sing at the same time" which was
a bit strange because playing guitar and singing at the same time I though should be
harder!!? Well after that we just played together now and then. We had only one gig
when I played the bass and it came to be the last one too. A second one with me on the
bass was planned on October the 3rd -97. We had all been at a festival in Stockholm and
we had all come home except Ozgur who didnīt have any money! So we had to cancel the
gig which was at one of Uppsalas biggest stages. The gig was planned to be played together
with our friends group Sesam but they had to play it alone... so the story ended!
Nowadays weīve almost all got our future bandplans ready and simply hoping that weīll
get somewhere in the "musicbiz"! Ozgur has got together a band but the bassplayer and
the synth- and programmer guy have both quit due to "Ozgurs domination and attitude
during rehearsals and to the bandmembers". Vilmi doesnīt have any plans of starting a
group though he most probably would join a serious band if he was asked to. I myself am
just looking for some serious musicians and people who have a similar taste of music.
The bassplayer Caspar (who got kicked from the band in the end) I have no idea about
his plans, heīs pretty politicaly involved (syndicalist). Before every
time I met him he did his best to avoid me and the rest of the band, he just didnīt
like us after getting kicked out of the band, and he owes me 50 kronor for loosing my
guitar strapp!!! Although he does talk to me nowadays.
If you want to know more just mail me, not that there is much more than the history
of ourselves to get to know about! Oh, and the reason for not having any pictures of
Caspar is that we never took any of him, only the pictures we have from some gigs
and the one on the top of the page! Well, stop crying now and enjoy my homepage!
Oh, yeah and the pics are all copywrited!!! If youīre making money of my pics send
50 % to me, get my e-mail on the mainpage! Stay rock nīroll!
